phrases people are using in the search engine to search their queries.
In simple terms, your targeted customers what words or phrases are using
to search for your products and services.
It is the best way to use these terms as keywords and get opportunities
for your website.
Why is Keyword Research important?
Keyword research helps you to understand the specific terms people are
using to search their queries. You can add these terms to your content for
better results.
It also helps in website ranking on search engine result pages (SERP)s.
Keyword research will increase your website traffic.
Now we will discuss
various types of keywords-
Primary Keywords: - Primary keywords
are main keywords or focus keywords. These terms help you to rank your website.
These types of keywords' search volume are high. They drive traffic from the
search engine to your site.
Example- Laptop store near Kolkata, Buy an online laptop.
Secondary Keywords: - Secondary keywords
are also called 'tertiary or supporting' keywords. It includes additional
information and supports the primary keywords.
Example- HP laptop shop near me,
Laptop stores near me.
Long-tail keywords: - Long-tail keywords are more specific and intentional to their searches. It
can drive exact customers from the search engine to your site. Its search volume is low and
also competition. But long-tail keywords are easy to rank. It gets better
results in SEO.
For Example- What is the best laptop in India?
Evergreen Keywords: - Evergreen keywords
have a steady search volume at all times. People are always looking for
it.
Example- How to lose weight? / How to fry an egg?
Seasonal Keywords: - These phrases or
words people are using to search for a certain period of a year.
Example- Christmas gifts ideas, Diwali gifts for family
Shopping Keywords: - The searcher wants to buy some
products or services.
For example- Buy mobile phones online, T-shirts for men, Ladies scarp
for winter.
Informational Keywords: - The searcher wants
to find some information for a topic. It could be anything.
Such as - Name of the brand, Courses, Recipes, Health, Famous place or
person.
Blogging Keywords: - If searcher wants
to find some information about a particular topic. These type of words or
phrase starts with Top, What, Why, How.
For example- Top 10 comedy books/ What is digital marketing?
LSI Keywords: - LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) keywords are related terms or phrases.
That is related to the targeted keywords. It helps users and search engines
better understand the content.
For example- If you are thinking about cricket. Then the LSI keyword
might be a bat, ball, and wicket.
Broad Keywords: - These types of keywords search volume
is high. Because it has an extensive meaning. The Broad keywords have lots of
competition in the market. It is tough to rank on search engines. Get traffic
from search engines to your site. These types of keywords are less likely to
become leads.

1. Brainstorming/ Manual Entry: - First of all, you
need to think about your niche. Suppose you have already decided on the niche.
Then think about the primary keyword or focus keyword.
You have already had a product or service. Then it is easy to decide the
main keyword. Just think about what people type into the search engine to find
what you offer.
For example, let say your niche is 'Digital marketing. Ask yourself what
topics do people search for that are related to my business? Then note down
those keywords.
Like my business is 'Digital Marketing Services'. Then my keywords
should be - Digital Marketing Services/ Digital Marketing Service List/ Digital
Marketing Service near me/ Digital Marketing Service in Kolkata.
Now, you need to think about your business. Then find out the keywords
and include those keywords in your content.
2. Google Suggest (Google Search Drop Down):- When you are typing
a keyword on Google. Google automatically show some suggestion. It means
related to the keyword. People also search for those things on Google. You can
select those terms. You may continue typing on the search bar.
For example- you are searching ‘Digital Marketing Services’. You will
see, some suggestions that Google suggests.
In the below, I will show a glimpse of it-
3. Google Related Search Keyword: - When you are looking for
something and type the word or phrase into the search engine. Google shows the
results on the Search Engine Result Page (SERP) s. At the bottom of the page,
you can see there will be written some related searches. You can also click on
these terms. After a click, you can see the same results that will show on SERPs.
For example, you are looking for ‘Digital Marketing Services’. At the
end of the bottom of the result, you can see related searches. These terms are
Google Related Search Keywords.

4. Competitors Website: - You can check here
which keywords of your competitors are already using. In return, they get a lot
of traffic and rank higher in SERPs. You can prioritize those keywords and use
them in your content. You can also take advantage of their missed opportunities.
You can also include those keywords and get an excellent result.
To check the competitor performance, you can use SEMrush, BuzzSumo,
Spyfu, Ubersuggest.
For example, you can enter competitor domain names and see which
keywords they are targeting.

5. Google Trends: - Google Trends help
you to understand which keywords are trending now. Also, see the popular
topics. It means, what users are recently searching for or within a few days.
You can type your keywords in Google Trends and see which states search the
most of it. Get an overview of it. You can also search month-wise or date wise
or year-wise. Apart from this, you can compare two keywords also.
For example, I am searching 'Digital Marketing’ as a keyword. What

6. Google Keyword Planner: - Google Keyword Planner is a free tool. Google keyword planner helps you to understand the competition of a keyword. Average monthly searches, and bidding price. Here you can compare two keywords.
For example, I am searching 'Digital Marketing" as a keyword. Here I show you what results from I get it-
7. Ubersuggest: - You can also search keywords by
typing the keyword or domain name. It is a free tool. In ubersuggest, you can
see the search volume of the keyword (how many people are searching), SEO
difficulty (organic rank), paid difficulty (paid campaigns charges), and the
cost per click (how much money you need to pay for PPC campaign).
For example, I am searching 'Digital Marketing' as the keyword. You can
search as per your business. I get all information which I want. In the below,

8. Answer the Public: - This is also a free
tool. Here you can see types of queries. Means What, How, and, or, To, Can,
Without, Near. These types of words are the beginning of your keywords. These
types of keywords help you to write a blog or information-based article.

9. Keyword Tool io: - This is a free tool. Its premium
version is also available. Here you can choose the platform also. Here if you
type the keyword and search. Then you can see the results. In Keyword tool io
gives you information about Search Volume, Trend, CPC (Cost Per Click), and
competition of the keywords.
